3/7 recap

Conference by conference is the only way to keep track of everything...

Big 10
@Iowa 69, Northwestern 52
Michigan St 74, @Indiana 72 - and now, Indiana is in true genuine trouble.  I think their overall resume is still clearly strong enough to make the tourney, but who knows how the committee will react to a freefall like this
@Michigan 79, Rutgers 69
@Purdue 63, Illinois 58

Big 12
@West Virginia 81, Oklahoma St 72
@Oklahoma 75, Kansas 73 - KU has brought the likes of Maryland, Notre Dame, and yes, Oklahoma, into contention for a 2 seed.  KU's still there for now
@Texas 62, Kansas St 49 - ok, I'll put the KSU thoughts to bed now for good
Iowa St 89, @TCU 76

Big East
Butler 68, @Providence 64
@Georgetown 73, Seton Hall 67 - with these two games, I feel fairly certain in saying GU > BU > Provi is the pecking order heading into their tourney, as far as the S-Curve goes

Pac-12
@Arizona St 74, California 70 - could be important towards the NIT bubble, actually
@Arizona 91, Stanford 69 - but Nova and Duke aren't yielding, Zona
@Washington 77, Utah 68 - that's worth at least one seed line, and maybe two, given how tight things are around the 3-5 lines
@Washington St 96, Colorado 91 (OT)

SEC
@Kentucky 67, Florida 50 - UK has clinched the #1 overall seed with UVa's loss
Alabama 61, @Texas A&M 60 - great, now I won't look smart for keeping A&M out the past week because everyone's going to have them out now
LSU 81, @Arkansas 78 - hey, a true legitimate signature win!
Georgia 64, @Auburn 61
South Carolina 60, @Tennessee 49
@Mississippi St 52, Missouri 43
Vanderbilt 86, @Ole Miss 77 - um, folks, you realize Ole Miss may be in trouble, right?

A-10
@Rhode Island 78, St Joseph's 68 - still likely too far back to matter
@George Washington 87, UMass 65
@LaSalle 55, Dayton 53 - that's not gonna help seeding
@St Bonaventure 66, Fordham 52
@VCU 71, George Mason 60

@Boise St 71, Fresno St 52
@New Mexico 52, Wyoming 49 (OT)
Colorado St 75, @Utah St 70
@San Diego St 67, Nevada 43
UNLV 71, @San Jose St 58

@Old Dominion 75, Western Kentucky 52
In NIT implications, UTEP wins

Other bubble teams
@Stephen F Austin 64, Sam Houston St 55 - SFA wins the Southland, by the way

Belmont 88, Murray St 87 - yes, Murray St is out, folks

MVC semis
Illinois St 65, Wichita St 62 - that'll be worth a seed line
Northern Iowa 63, Loyola(Chi) 49

WCC quarters
Portland 69, St Mary's 52 - a killer to BYU's hopes, who really needed another solid win over St Mary's to buttress the profile

Furman 69, Chattanooga 67 - 2 seed out
Mercer 89, VMI 61

Summit quarters
South Dakota St 87, Western Illinois 50
North Dakota St 61, Denver 50

Miscellany:
- Georgia St beats Georgia Southern to win the Sun Belt
- In the Big Sky, Northern Arizona beats Sacramento St, to make both finish on 13-5.  With Montana and EWU winning, that means a 4-way tie for this conference title.  And it's Montana as your 1 seed

Jerry Palm still has Texas A&M in his field even after the Alabama loss! There is a reason Palm has only outscored me once since 2006 even though he is a paid expert and I am just another person doing brackets.

Alabama 61, @Texas A&M 60 - great, now I won't look smart for keeping A&M out the past week because everyone's going to have them out now

That's what happens when you try to do things by memory to save time, hah.

Palm's really had some wacko projections this year. Makes me wonder if he's using outdated RPI-related metrics to make those projections.
