Northeast conference tournament preview

This is part 7 of a 33-part series in this blog, designed to give you all the information you need to know about every conference's tournament, and the postseason prospects of every single team in the conference.

Final standings:
St Francis(NY) 15-3
Robert Morris 12-6
Bryant 12-6
Mt St Mary's 11-7
St Francis(PA) 9-9
Sacred Heart 9-9
Wagner 8-10
LIU Brooklyn 8-10
Fairleigh Dickinson 3-15
Central Connecticut St 3-15

Conference tournament format:
First, only the top 8 play.  Luckily for the conference, there's a natural gap between 8th and 9th.

First round is the quarterfinal round, played on campus sites Wednesday March 4.  Semifinals are Saturday March 7 on campus sites, and are reseeded (highest seed remaining plays lowest seed remaining).  The finals are Tuesday March 10.

Bracket:
1) St Francis(NY) vs. 8) LIU Brooklyn
2) Robert Morris vs. 7) Wagner
3) Bryant vs. 6) Sacred Heart
4) Mt St Mary's vs. 5) St Francis(PA)

The stakes:
Not a single team in the conference is above RPI 150.  That's usually Dayton territory.  It reflects in my bracket, as St Francis(NY) has been stuck as team #67 for a very, very long time.  If enough upsets happen everywhere else, they might be able to escape Dayton.  But everyone else would definitely be relegated to the play-in games if they win this conference.  Unfortunately for them, there's just no analysis to do.

St Francis(NY) can blame their non-con SoS in the 300s for this.  At least RMU and Bryant scheduled up and got killed by the schedules.

If you're looking at the CBI/CIT, the list of eligible teams will be cut and dry.  Robert Morris, Bryant, Mt St Mary's, and St Francis(PA) will all be eligible (Sacred Heart if they reach the title game would be too).  However, all the resumes are poor, so while 1 or 2 might get invited, no way all 4 do.  I don't know how much each school will care about the tourneys, but it's possible they could be playing each other for bids.
