Bubble Watch, part 8: A-10

It's time to take inventory of there all 351 teams in the country stand.  Over a dozen or so posts today, we'll break down the resumes that matter in typical Bubble Watch style.

This conference is going to really struggle compared to last year.  They'll get their 3 but no more.

The Lockbox:
VCU (15-3) (5-0) RPI 4 SoS 2
Vital signs:  7-2 R/N, non-con SoS 1, 2-3 vs. Top 50, 5-3 vs. Top 100
Signature wins:  UNI, @Cincy, N-Tenn...
Bad losses:  I guess maybe @ODU counts, but not really
Look at the non-con SoS.  Yeah, they'll be fine.  The only question is how high they'll go.  Access to signature wins are cut off in the A-10 this year.

Bubble:
Dayton (15-2) (5-0) RPI 25 SoS 101
Vital signs:  5-2 R/N, non-con SoS 76, 2-1 vs. Top 50, 5-2 vs. Top 100
Signature wins:  N-A&M, Ole Miss?
Bad losses:  none, really
2 reasonable losses (@Arky, N-UConn).  These also double as they only two chances at a win over a probable bubble team or better.  That's not good.  However, the vital signs are good.  Good R/N record.  Everything else is fine, so they'll be fine.  I might suggest beating VCU just to be sure, though.

George Washington (14-4) (4-1) RPI 41 SoS 129
Vital signs:  6-4 R/N, non-con SoS 138, 1-2 vs. Top 50, 4-3 vs. Top 100
Signature wins:  N-Wichita St, Richmond?  @Rutgers?
Bad losses:  @LaSalle, @Penn St
Boy, it's a good thing they have a signature win in their pocket.  Because a couple marginal road losses, marginal SoS numbers, and everything else screams quintessential bubble team.  Positive R/N record is a minor boon, though.  I'm willing to forgive those road losses a bit because there's 6 wins like that hovering around.

Davidson (12-4) (3-2) RPI 51 SoS 98
Vital signs:  4-4 R/N, non-con SoS 207, 0-3 vs. Top 50, 2-4 vs. Top 100
Signature wins:  @UMass?  Richmond?
Bad losses:  @Richmond and 3 top 12 losses
They're barely on this list, and only because 3 of those 4 losses are R/Ns to Virginia, VCU, and UNC.  They need to add quality wins, and they need to come from the top 3 in this league, stat.

NIT watch:
UMass (10-8) (3-2) RPI 61 SoS 16 - sterling SoS, but just couldn't beat a signature opponent.  Signature wins over N'eastern and Iona aren't bad...but they needed one with more meat on it in the non-con.
Rhode Island (11-5) (3-2) RPI 83 SoS 106 - no Top 100 wins.  So while they haven't really suffered a bad loss...they need significant wins to even get on the page above.
Richmond (10-8) (3-2) RPI 76 SoS 31 - frankly, I'm not even sure they're close to the NIT.

EIEIO watch:
St Bonaventure (10-6) (3-2) RPI 167 SoS 232
LaSalle (10-8) (2-3) RPI 100 SoS 67

No postseason projected:
St Louis (9-9) (1-4)
St Joseph's (7-9) (1-4)
Duquesne (6-10) (1-4)
George Mason (6-11) (1-4)
Fordham (5-11) (0-5)
