1/10 recap

Conference-by-conference in order to keep track of everything:

AAC:
@UConn 62, Cincinnati 56 - UConn fighting their way back to the bubble.  No one in the AAC has much room for error, but Cincy will survive this for now
Tulsa 63, @Temple 56 - so, naturally, Tulsa is the last undefeated team in conference play here

Pac-12:
Washington St 80, @Washington 77 - whaaaaaaaaaaat.  Catastrophic loss of the day right here
@Oregon 59, Arizona St 56

SEC:
Kentucky 70, @Texas A&M 64 (2OT) - significant in that Duke or Virginia have an opening to the #1 overall seed, even if UK runs the table
Alabama 56, @Tennessee 38 - yeah, we're not taking UT seriously, right?
@Arkansas 82, Vanderbilt 70
@Ole Miss 65, South Carolina 49 - USC entered conference play with a bit of prosperity and are now 0-2.  Sigh
@Auburn 85, Missouri 79
@Florida 72, Mississippi St 47
@LSU 87, Georgia 84 (2OT) - we're about ready to discard Georgia from discussions.  I don't know.  Don't you just feel like ignoring this conference until late February and try and figure out who's hot then?

B1G:
@Indiana 69, Ohio St 66 - OSU did add a big road win already, so this doesn't hurt as bad as it would seem, but they need to win a few of these later on.  Indiana gets a requisite home win over a good team to add to the bubble resume
@Michigan 62, Minnesota 57 - well, here we are and UM is trying its darndest to claw their way back to the bubble
@Maryland 69, Purdue 60

Big 12:
@Kansas 86, Texas Tech 54
Baylor 66, @TCU 59 - I suppose any road win is a good win, but another step to getting away from this TCU thing
@Oklahoma St 69, Texas 58 - 1-2 in the Big 12 for UT.  Not the greatest start
Kansas St 66, @Oklahoma 63 (OT) - a terrible loss for OU.  KSU might be the worst team in the league; and with so many strong spots in the league, you can't blow home games to the plebeians
Iowa St 74, @West Virginia 72 - and road wins like this are gold in the conference.  Gold

ACC:
@Wake Forest 76, Georgia Tech 69 - catastrophic loss
Clemson 71, @Pittsburgh 62 - and whatever "catastrophic loss" means, double it for Pitt here
@North Carolina 72, Louisville 71
@Miami 60, Boston College 56
Virginia 62, @Notre Dame 56 - this'll matter in seeding these teams in March...just how much, we will await to see

Big East:
@Providence 60, Georgetown 57 (OT) - I have a feeling a lot of these games where the home team holds will be non-events for the bubble teams
Seton Hall 68, @Creighton 67 - road wins are still gold
@Villanova 81, DePaul 64
@Butler 88, Xavier 76 - just rinse and repeat my Provi/G'town comment

A-10
@LaSalle 63, George Washington 50 - uh oh.  You can afford the occasional road loss to the semi-decent team, just don't make this a habit, k?
Rhode Island 61, @Duquesne 60
@VCU 89, St Joseph's 74
Dayton 76, @Fordham 58
@Davidson 89, St Louis 54

MAC:
@Western Michigan 78, Buffalo 68 - through 2 matchdays in the MAC, only 2 undefeated teams left on the board:  Bowling Green and Ball St (who beat CMU).  Not hot WMU or CMU.  Not the best team Buffalo.  Not the preseason faves Toledo and Akron.  What a wild conference this will be

MW:
Colorado St 92, @Air Force 87
@Wyoming 65, Boise St 54 - what a big week for Wyoming
New Mexico 66, @Utah St 60

MVC:
Evansville 66, @Bradley 56
Northern Iowa 64, @Drake 40

WCC:
Pepperdine 59, @San Diego 47 - Pepperdine holds on the road and is 4-1 in the conference
@Gonzaga 79, Santa Clara 57
@BYU 85, Loyola Marymount 72
St Mary's 54, @Pacific 47

miscellany:  Louisiana Tech held on the road...and now have a game in hand on Old Dominion, because:  @Western Kentucky 72, Old Dominion 65...

Strange teams you're going to see in your bracket on Monday:
America East - a Stony Brook loss has moved Albany, 7-7 (3-0) and owners of a sub-200 RPI, into the bracket.  Frankly, though, I'm starting to think it won't really matter who comes out of here
OVC:  Eastern Illinois 8-6 (3-0) holds over Belmont at home, and the owners of a mildly surprising RPI in the 130s move ahead of Belmont and Murray into the bracket
Southland:  thanks to playing one extra game, Sam Houston St (still pretty good) is going to sneak ahead of Stephen F Austin in the next bracket.  At the least, it'll force everyone to evaluate SFA as an at-large candidate...I'm not sure there's enough there, but there ARE things to like in this.  They scheduled up and @Memphis and LBSU are wins that at least get them to the table for now
Big West:  UC Davis holds over Long Beach St at home, and the conference who is projected #13 (behind the big 11 and the MAC) has this team, owners of a sub-300 non-con SoS, in the field.  Not usual kings UCSB and LBSU, not preseason fave Irvine, not Cal Poly and their sub-100 RPI, and not the team with the most wins (Hawaii).  January brackets are so weird
