3/1 recap

Top line watch:
Wichita St 68, Missouri St 45
Florida 79, LSU 61
Illinois 53, Michigan St 46 - this is probably the one that takes MSU off the 1 line for good, and maybe the 2 line too
Virginia 75, Syracuse 56 - I can't see UVa getting to the 1 line, for the record
Michigan 66, Minnesota 56 - Michigan has a reasonable shot at the 1 line given where they were earlier.  no harm to Minny's bubble chances, forgivable road loss
Oklahoma St 72, Kansas 65 - Kansas to the 1 line anyways.  Yes, with a loss.  Syracuse loss means Kansas and their #1 SoS moves to my 1 line

Protected seed watch:
UConn 51, Cincinnati 45 - Cincy back to the 4 line, and maybe 5.  UConn pretty close to avoiding the 8/9 game now
Memphis 72, Louisville 66 - frankly, the AAC is a mess now
North Carolina 60, Virginia Tech 56 - UNC is a 4 seed now
SMU 70, UCF 55
Oklahoma 77, Texas 65 - no real shift for either team's fortunes
VCU 67, St Louis 56 - St Louis finally bleeding games and seeding lines.  VCU is now in the lockbox
South Carolina 72, Kentucky 67 - what?
Kansas St 80, Iowa St 73 - Kansas St probably goes to the lockbox now
San Diego St 82, Fresno St 67

Bubble watch:
Dayton 86, UMass 79 - as I've said before, Dayton has signature win chances down the stretch.  They split the St Joe's/UMass games, and need at least another split coming up
Pittsburgh 85, Notre Dame 81 (OT) - if Pitt was going to do something stupid, this would've been the place, and they avoided it.  barely.  probably good to go now
Utah 75, Colorado 64 - Colorado just refuses to get locked in.  Utah is still a ways away from the bubble, but we'll have to keep an eye on them, just in case
Rhode Island 66, Richmond 43 - catastrophic road loss, and we're about ready to ignore Richmond the rest of the way
St Joseph's 83, St Bonaventure 74 - not a trivial road win; all of a sudden you could make an argument to lock up St Joe's.  2nd in the A-10
Arkansas 87, Georgia 75 - important hold of serve for Arkansas; and we can also safely ignore Georgia
Xavier 75, Creighton 69 - signature win and once again, X is the clear #3 in the Big East pecking order
Arizona St 78, California 60 - ASU sneaking ahead of the other Pac-12 bubble teams; Cal might be bottom of the 5 now.  Still tough to order them
Gonzaga 75, St Mary's 47 - lock in Gonzaga

also Okla. State wins and Minny loses, as covered in above sections

teams that held serve and don't warrant explanation:
Tennessee 76, Vanderbilt 38
West Virginia 81, TCU 59
Baylor 59, Texas Tech 49
Missouri 85, Mississippi St 66
Green Bay 75, Detroit 66
BYU 78, San Diego 70
Oregon 78, USC 63
Nebraska 54, Northwestern 47

Further down...
Miami 85, NC State 70 - whatever flicker of hope remained is now stamped out
Northern Iowa 71, Indiana St 69 - now ISU is throwing away the NIT
Texas A&M 71, Ole Miss 60 - bye, Marshall Henderson
Toledo 96, Western Michigan 85 (OT) - MAC is a 3-way tie with these 2 and Buffalo.  2 to play
Boise St 72, Wyoming 63
Middle Tennessee 65, Rice 41 - MTSU to 12-3 in CUSA.  Other contenders play Sunday

Small school watch:
Mercer and FGCU end tied atop the A-Sun at 14-4.  Mercer has the better overall record, much better RPI, better non-con results, better overall profile, better everything...but FGCU has the conference tiebreaker for the 1 seed and NIT bid.  What?
Boston wins to clinch the Patriot title
Delaware wins to clinch the CAA title
The Big South is done, and we ended with High Point on 12-4, VMI and Coastal Carolina on 11-5, and Radford, Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, and UNCA on 10-6.  What a glorious mess this conference is
Belmont wins, Murray St loses, and the OVC goes to Belmont
Stephen F Austin to 16-0 in the Southland
Harvard and Yale win, so it's a 2 game lead for Harvard with 2 to play
Southern clinches the SWAC.  Which is a mess because they can't keep anyone eligible
2 to play in the Big West.  Irvine stays 1 up on Santa Barbara
Weber St loses, they are now 2 ahead of N. Dakota and Montana with 2 to play in the Big Sky
Utah Valley wins and stays 1 ahead of NMSU in the WAC with 1 to play

Sunday:
Wisconsin at Penn St - the 1 line is in play for Wisky now
Marquette at Villanova - everyone else keeps giving Marquette bubble life; this is mandatory to stay alive
Ohio St at Indiana - and a chance for OSU to move up the B1G pecking order
Stanford at Arizona - free chance for Stanford

Hold-serve theather:  DePaul at St John's, George Mason visits George Washington in a battle of old dead guys, Southern Miss at FAU, Purdue at Iowa, Louisiana Tech at UAB, New Mexico at Nevada, Georgia Tech at Florida St, Oregon St at UCLA

I wonder if both Kansas and Duke run the table, which team will get the No. 1 seed. Maybe Kansas given their SoS and the fact they would be winning both regular season and conference championship.
