Mid-Eastern Athletic conference tournament

This is part 14 of a 32-part series covering each conference and conference tournament.  These previews are meant to provide every bracketologist with the information they need to make informed projections about the teams of the conference.

The standings:
North Carolina Central 15-1
Hampton 13-3
Morgan St 11-5
Norfolk St 11-5
Savannah St 10-6
Florida A&M 8-8
Coppin St 7-9
Howard 5-11
North Carolina A&T 5-11
Bethune-Cookman 5-11
Delaware St 5-11
South Carolina St 5-11
Maryland-Eastern Shore 4-12

Tournament format:
All 13 teams will be at a neutral site in Norfolk.  Top 3 teams get a bye.  One note about the calendar:  it's weird.  1st round happens on March 10 and 11.  Quarterfinals are March 12 and 13.  Semifinals March 14.  Finals March 15.  The 4/13 and 5/12 games happen on the 10th, the 6/11, 7/10 and 8/9 games on the 11th, the 1 vs. 8/9 and 2 vs. 7/10 games on the 12th, the 4/13 vs. 5/12 and 3 vs. 6/11 games on the 13th.  Holy crap.

The matchups:
8) Howard (7-24) vs. 9) North Carolina A&T (9-22)
5) Savannah St (12-18) vs. 12) South Carolina St (9-20)
4) Norfolk St (17-13) vs. 13) UMES (6-23)
6) Florida A&M (13-17) vs. 11) Delaware St (9-20)
7) Coppin St (10-19) vs. 10) Bethune-Cookman (7-24)

1) NCCU (25-5) vs. 8/9 winner
3) Morgan St (13-15) vs. 6/11 winner
2) Hampton (18-11) vs. 7/10 winner

The stakes:
I've seen people vary wildly on NCCU's possible seed in March.  They won at NC State, and their only unreasonable non-con loss was at IUPUI.  They should escape the 16 line.  Everyone else would be earmarked for the play-in game.  Norfolk and Hampton would have records suggesting CBI/CIT bids are coming, but even that could be stretching it.
