3/5 recap

Top line watch:
Wake Forest 82, Duke 72 - well, that's one way to end your hopes for the 1 line.  They can still get 3 signature wins in the next two weeks, so they're not dead yet, but they also need help now
Arizona 74, Oregon St 69
San Diego St 73, UNLV 64

hold-serve results:
UConn 69, Rutgers 63
Louisville 84, SMU 71 - UL adding signature road wins is helping their seed
UMass 78, Duquesne 74
Kansas 82, Texas Tech 57
Texas 66, TCU 54
Wisconsin 76, Purdue 70
New Mexico 80, Air Force 52
Oklahoma 72, West Virginia 62 - and we're done with WVU here

Bubble watch:
Nebraska 70, Indiana 60 - hey, a quality road win!  Bubble teams usually lose this game!  Big development for Nebraska, who needs to keep doing this.  Indiana's cursory look is probably over.
Georgia 66, Mississippi St 45 - not a bubble game, but Georgia is going to be a 3 seed in the SEC tournament.  Whoever draws the 6 spot is going to be a bubble team getting a useless game.  The 6 seed is the poison pill
Tennessee 82, Auburn 54
Arkansas 110, Ole Miss 80
Missouri 57, Texas A&M 56 - well that almost didn't end well
Dayton 72, St Louis 67 - signature road win!!!!  This erases the sin at St Joe's last week.  St Louis bleeding even more seeding lines.  Dayton is gonna be in my field tomorrow
George Washington 76, St Joseph's 71 - really not much harm to St Joe's, who earned a bit of equity leading up to this game
Colorado 59, Stanford 56 - Colorado now has a house money game at Cal to clinch a bid.  Stanford has a must-win against Utah coming
Utah 63, California 59 - Catastrophic home loss, and now legitimate trouble is brewing.  Is Colorado at home mandatory for them now?  Maybe.  Utah goes to Stanford.  If they win that, THEN we'll talk bubble with them

NIT bubble watch?
Nevada 83, Boise St 81 (OT)
Utah St 65, Wyoming 54 - I just think the Mountain West doesn't want anyone in the NIT either now

Conference tournament watch:

Big South 1st round:
Winthrop 77, Liberty 65
Radford 78, Presbyterian 73
Charleston Southern 81, Campbell 71
Gardner-Webb 81, Longwood 65 - top seeds hold; quarterfinals are going to be insane, trust me

Patriot quarterfinals:
Army 72, Bucknell 71 - mild uset
Holy Cross 54, Lehigh 48
Boston 91, Lafayette 54
American 59, Colgate 50

Northeast quarterfinals:
Robert Morris 60, Fairleigh Dickinson 53
Wagner 83, Central Connecticut St 59
St Francis(PA) 55, Bryant 54 - mild uset
Mount St Mary's 72, St Francis(NY)

OVC 1st round:
Tennessee Tech 74, SIU-Edwardsville 67
SE Missouri St 79, Eastern Illinois 61

Thursday preview:
Memphis at Cincinnati - useful for S-Curve purposes
Villanova at Xavier - free chance for X to erase the Seton Hall sting
Iowa at Michigan St - both teams are bleeding seeding lines
VCU at Richmond - last chance saloon for Richmond.  VCU playing for seeding
UCLA at Washington

It's the last day of CUSA.  LaTech at Rice, MTSU at UAB, S. Miss at Tulane, Tulsa at North Texas.  Let's see who blinks.  Head to head tiebreaks, I think:  LaTech and MTSU 2-1, USM and Tulsa 1-2, LaTech beat MTSU.  But one loss throws off those numbers.  Stay tuned.
