3/13 SEED LIST

Kentucky all the way to 2nd feels aggressive, but remind yourself:  everyone plays everyone else this week, so these rankings at the top are going to sort themselves out.

Doing some seed scrubbing...adjusting Louisville and Iowa in this revision a bit.  Also Houston.  And Seton Hall.

This bubble....I keep looking at those ACC schools...no way.  I just can't.  If it's Indiana vs. them, I can't see how you keep all of Indiana's signature wins out of the tourney when NCSU is slumming around with their non-con SoS.

I will change my mind though, don't worry.  Lots of scrubbing between now and Sunday.

Kentucky is all over the board as is Duke in people's overall seeds. Seen a few Kentucky #2 and seen Kentucky down at #5. Duke seen at #2 and down at #6.

I think the SEC tournament is going to mean a whole lot this year when in past it hasn't meant that much. The committee never seems to take into account the SEC final as Kentucky has won it 4 year in a row and in 2016 and 2018 it seemed to have zero affect. They still got a 5 seed last year when it probably should bumped them to a 4. The big one was in 2016 when they beat A&M and A&M still got a 3 seed while Kentucky got a 4 seed which made no sense.

What I am saying is will the committee finally take the SEC final into account ? It seems crazy that SEC and Big Ten play so late and they have to account for those. It be funner really if all the tournaments ended on Saturday and Sunday was no games and just a bunch of debate until the selection Show plus the committee could actually fully account for the games.

Tennessee compared to Gonzaga.

Tennessee 4 losses Gonzaga 3 losses (all quad 1 losses)

Tennessee 7-4 vs quad 1, 6-0 vs quad 2
Gonzaga 4-3 vs quad 1, 6-0 vs quad 2

Tennessee beat Gonzaga H2H on a neutral court

So if Tennessee isn't a 1 seed how can Gonzaga be ?

I know everyone and their brother will have Gonzaga still a #1 seed and ahead of Tennessee but look at the resumes it just makes no sense. I think the committee is over valuing Gonzaga's resume. They very well might be the best team in the nation but the resume is what should only matter.

Tennessee has a better resume but isn't a #1 seed.

Clemson you have reached your end game. Thanks for playing.

NC State still should be out 353 non conf SOS is shameful.

It will be time very soon to see how seriously the committee takes the NET on all counts.

Gonzaga is #2 in NET and unlikely to change much since they're done. Tennessee is #6.
Clemson and NC State both have NET in the top 40, NC St is at #32 and Clemson is at #36 (before their game today). In the past, basically only mid-majors missed with RPIs like that.

That said, both NC st and Clemson's profile looks very similar to Louisville's last year and they were a surprising exclusion. Louisville even had good non-con SOS.

USC had an RPI for 34 last year and Louisville was 38 and both were left out.

On Gonzaga, the committee has a history (a modest one, perhaps, but one nonetheless) of overseeding top-end mid majors, even if the resume doesn't support it. I think Gonzaga passes their eye test, and it'll be as simple as that.

I have to imagine they count the SEC finals this year. I can't imagine they ignore it if it's LSU vs. UK/UT. Unless....they pre-decide LSU can't get to the 1 line, and so they give the 1 seed to the UK/UT winner.

Damn you TCU. You needed to lose that game.
