Horizon League conference tournament preview

This is part 4 of a 32-part preview.

Standings:
Wright St 13-5
Northern Kentucky 13-5
Oakland 11-7
Green Bay 10-8
UIC 10-8
Youngstown St 8-10
Detroit 8-10
IUPUI 8-10
Milwaukee 5-13
Cleveland St 4-14

Format:
Quarters on March 5/6, hosted by higher seed (why do they split this over 2 days?!??!).  Semis and finals are then at a neutral site in Detroit on March 11/12.  The Horizon always has weird setups; this years' is tame by comparison.

They kick out the bottom 2 teams.

The matchups:
1) Wright St vs. 8) IUPUI
4) Green Bay vs. 5) UIC
3) Oakland vs. 6) Youngstown St
2) Northern Kentucky vs. 7) Detroit

The stakes:
This is the new world order for the league, stuck with a conference NET in the 20s.  Only NKU and WSU are better than 200 in NET (well IUPUI is 195, but whatever).  So the entire league is slowly sinking to the bottom, and it likely means NKU/WSU's seed is capped at 15, maybe 14 if things break right.

WSU and NKU split in the regular season....next tiebreaker was record vs. 3rd place team.  Okay.  Sure.  There's the weird thing with the Horizon this year.  This tiebreaker decides the NIT rep.  Either way, no team really did much of anything in the non-con to work with, unless you count WSU beating Toledo.  Hence the reason they're stuck on the 15 line in all probability.
