1) Note the procedural bumps. I have 2 SEC teams in the First Four, and one of the only possible sites to send them to was a site with Kentucky looming. Basically, a bracketing disaster was afoot. I had to apply the NCAA's new rule that allows conference matchups earlier in the tournament several times. Lots of jockeying.
2) I toyed briefly with the idea of Tennessee/Arkansas in a first four matchup. It would've solved a lot of seeding issues. I doubt the NCAA goes for it, however.
3) Remember when New Mexico got put into Gonzaga's bracket last year, based on geography and not S-Curve? A similar dynamic is emerging with Arizona and SDSU this year.
4) I took creative license with the regional sites. My 4 line goes Iowa/Kentucky/Duke/Ohio St. Just going by strict seeding, I would've sent Iowa to Raleigh, Kentucky to Orlando, and Duke across the country to San Diego or Spokane. Therefore, since Iowa had to travel a bunch no matter what, I made the executive decision to send Iowa went instead of Duke.
5) I have 3 Big 12 teams as 3 seeds and another 2 as 6 seeds. That seeding line adjustment is literally impossible to avoid. Virginia is the benefactor in this particular bracket.
