ACC/B1G challenge:
Syracuse 69, Indiana 52 - Indiana quietly has a very pedestrian resume and outlook. Syracuse can start thinking about a top 2 seed
Georgia Tech 67, Illinois 64 - Not a good loss for Illinois, a near-mandatory win for GT
Pittsburgh 78, Penn St 69 - yawn
Duke 79, Michigan 69 - Michigan doesn't have to worry yet as quality win chances will still come, but it's tough to get a protected seed with 9 or 10 losses
Iowa 98, Notre Dame 93 - No harm to ND, really. Nice bump for Iowa
Minnesota 71, Florida St 61 - Not a sin to lose this game, but a bit of margin of error for the ACC season is gone for FSU. Minny is on the fringes of the bubble for now
elsewhere:
Massachusetts 69, Eastern Michigan 57 - Road win!
North Carolina Central 76, Old Dominion 69 (OT) - MEAC could get out of the PIG if they can find a way to send NCCU to the tourney
Belmont 70, MTSU 58 - Belmont is building up a lot of equity. Road wins at UNC and MTSU, losses are reasonable. MTSU's in a bit dicier situation
Milwaukee 83, Northern Iowa 72 - RIP, Northern Iowa's at-large candidacy. Much earlier than expected
Arizona 79, Texas Tech 58
Colorado 67, Colorado St 62 - Road win!
Creighton 78, Long Beach St 61 - Road win!
Boise St 69, Utah 67
UCLA 89, UCSB 76
Wednesday:
the 2nd half of the ACC/B1G challenge
New Mexico at New Mexico St is my other game of the day. Lots of mid-major pecking order games to pay attention to too. I'm looking at Harvard/Northeastern, Cleveland St/Drexel, among others. SMU has a road game at UIC that is mandatory if they're a serious at-large contender. Same deal for St Joe's at Temple. Ditto Richmond at William & Mary.
