12/14 recap

Arizona 72, Michigan 70 - Arizona gets a Big Boy road win that will probably have solid value in March.  Michigan however is in a bit of a tricky spot.  They will go into B1G play lacking a true signature win a #1 seed would need.  There will be many opportunities in B1G play to compile solid wins, but the goal is higher for them.
Wisconsin 86, Eastern Kentucky 61 - I hate my EKU call now.  Wisky rolls.
Louisville 79, Western Kentucky 63
Oklahoma St 70, Louisiana Tech 55 - Standard.
Wichita St 70, Tennessee 61 - Golden opportunity by the boards for UT.  Wichita can start thinking heavily about protected seeds now.
UMass 80, Northern Illinois 54 - This MAC arrangement UMass has because of football is actually hurting their computer numbers at this point.
Notre Dame 79, Indiana 72 - Notre Dame rescues its profile to some degree.  Indiana doesn't.  All of a sudden, B1G play looks interesting because there's a few teams needing a resume boost.
Michigan St 67, Oakland 63 - Pseudo road win.
North Carolina 82, Kentucky 77 - I give up trying to figure out what to do with UNC.  Bottom line is they have 3 high profile wins, and these wins usually lead to high seeds.  It's more likely the 2 losses get thrown out.  No big harm to Kentucky, but the SEC doesn't have many quality win chances, so better get going.
Butler 76, Purdue 70
Kansas 80, New Mexico 63 - Standard.
St Mary's 82, Boise St 73 - St Mary's is now dealing with a legitimate profile.  Boise's profile is actually rather empty, and they'll need MWC play to fill it up.
Xavier 64, Cincinnati 47 - Not a particularly good loss for Cincy, a very important win for Xavier.
Ohio St 79, North Dakota St 62
Oregon 71, Illinois 64 - See?  Everyone in the B1G will be in need in January and February.  Fantastic.
Utah 81, BYU 64 - BYU finally runs into profile trouble.
Ole Miss 72, MTSU 63
NC State 82, Detroit 79
Cal 67, Fresno St 56

Fun with mid-majors:
Northern Iowa 77, VCU 68 - UNI still barely on the fringes of the at-large discussion; the bigger news is VCU losing a no-win game for them.  Them's the breaks down here.
Toledo 77, Sam Houston St 61 - Not a lot of heft on the resume, but Toledo is showing at 9-0.
Princeton 81, Penn St 79 (OT)
South Dakota St 85, Belmont 72 - Magic ran out for Belmont.  At least it was a road loss.
New Mexico St 81, Drake 69 (OT) - I might have missed on this whole WAC theory of mine.

Inexplicable loss division:
St Peter's 83, Seton Hall 80 (OT)
Jackson St 57, Evansville 51

Sunday preview:
BREAKING NEWS:  Syracuse plays a road game (St John's).  Other than that, it's a somewhat busy day, but only for the mid-majors.  We'll know what's meaningful when we see who wins.
