2/14 recap

Arizona St 69, Arizona 66 (2OT) - ok, let's think about Arizona's seed out loud.  It's still a 1, but it's reasonable to question it with the injury.  Is Florida ahead of them?  I think so.  Either way, it's temporary given Florida's playing UK tomorrow.  But Arizona is the weakest 1 seed, for now.

As for ASU, they've now defaulted to #3 in the Pac-12 pecking order, and that's a pretty good place to be.  Think of the bubble as a bear.  A bear hunting several people, including ASU, Stanford, Cal, Colorado, and Oregon.  The bear is trying to eat as many bubble teams as possible.  All ASU needs to do is outrun the other Pac-12 teams - the bubble bear will then eat the other teams first.  In this weak bubble, getting to the top of this jumbled mess is EVERYTHING.  ASU (and Cal) now hold a trump card.

Louisville 82, Temple 58
SMU 77, Rutgers 65

Over in the MAAC, Iona and Canisius win on the road
Harvard beats Columbia on the road in 2OT.  They keep in lock step with Yale, winner over Penn at home.
Mercer won.
Chattanooga won.

Saturday:
Virginia at Clemson - Clemson is out of time.  Virginia has protected seeding to play for
Memphis at UConn - multiple seeding lines at stake
Pittsburgh at North Carolina - is Pitt a bubble team?  better not chance it...
VCU at St Louis - today is the day we begin to learn how good St Louis is
Oklahoma at Oklahoma St - OSU is tempting the bubble big-time with a loss here
Southern Miss at MTSU - all of a sudden, MTSU playing for the CUSA lead; USM playing for their bubble life
UMass at George Washington - neither team would be in trouble with a loss, but seeding lines are at stake
NC State at Syracuse - NC State approaching last chance saloon
Tennessee at Missouri - so it turns out at least one SEC bubble team will actually win tomorrow!
Ole Miss at Georgia - I will repeat - Georgia is 7-4 in the SEC.  the hell?
Green Bay at Cleveland St - the toughest spot of bother left on Green Bay's schedule, and mandatory for fleeting at-large hopes
Stephen F Austin at Sam Houston St - last reasonable chance for SFA to lose a conference game
LSU at Arkansas - tepid bubble battle
Kansas St at Baylor - for those still paying attention to Baylor
West Virginia at Texas - ok, WVU, you wore me down.  Win this and we'll talk
BYU at St Mary's - BYU desperately needs this
Florida St at Wake Forest - for those still paying attention to FSU, this is so mandatory
Florida at Kentucky - ok so perhaps this has some impact on the bracket
