It will be hard to believe if a team like Middle Tennessee loses in the C-USA tournament and does not get a bid. Same for Wichita State. I mean they don't have the paper to get a bid in normal years but the bubble is weaker than ever before. We say that every year but this year is by far the worst. We have 4-10 conf record teams on the bubble, we have 14-13 and 15-12 teams on the bubble. Hard to get any mid major at large bids anymore when most of the good ones switched conferences and got out of being a mid major teams like Butler, Davidson, VCU, ect

If you look closely enough at non-con schedules, the opportunities just aren't there anymore. Power programs are just avoiding the middies. And worse, all the good teams are signing up for made-for-TV tournaments which are substitutes for plain old regular games against middies. All the MTTs with power programs are filling out their fields with other power conference minnows to help them out. Everything's trending the wrong way.

No team has ever got an at large bid with 15 losses. Only 6 teams have ever got an at large bid with 14 losses (last being in 2008).

If Vanderbilt loses at Kentucky that is lose 14 and that means they will have to have 15 losses to be in contention for an at large bid.

Vanderbilt can't lose another regular season game.

Instead of saying "next 4 in" maybe change it to "last 4 to avoid Dayton" or "avoiding Dayton"

If there was ever a year where precedent in at-large selection would be broken...it'd be a year like this, right? Just sayin'. Vandy can win 3 of 4, and that would mean a split of Kentucky and Florida. This is a real thing that could happen with something like 19-15.

Everyone else always says "last 4 byes" and things like "first four out". Let me rebel against the system :)

Indiana is all but dead now. They have to win the Big 10 tournament now.

Stupid CBS needs to update their site. 11 teams had 14 losses and got at large bid (5 of them in 2011 which is what I missed when I said 6 before)

CBS? Jerry Palm should be blacklisted from bracketology talk.

Butler just got the biggest win of any team for the entire season beating Nova at a place where their seniors were 45-0.
